Solemar Academy is an Italian language school, primarily catering to foreigners in Sicily. Described as a 'boutique' school, this conveys the atmosphere found within its walls: an open-minded and welcoming school, with attention to each individual student.

Located in Cefalù, a beautiful small seaside town on the northern coast of Sicily, Solemar Academy has been helping students discover the Italian language for 30 years. Today it is run by a youthful, lively and highly motivated team.

Teachers generally follow the communicative approach, but are always happy to adapt their modern teaching methods to the differing needs of our students.

The Location

The school sits a couple of hundred metres from the beach of Cefalù, in a small fishing community with a big tourist following! Besides the beautiful beach and crystal clear sea, the town is a very interesting destination for those who love art, culture and nature.

Cefalù is, in fact, home to an important UNESCO World Heritage site: the Arab-Norman Cathedral. The mediaeval old town oozes character from every stone: its small streets are closed to traffic, connecting miniature courtyards, ancient architecture, historic sights and shops of all kinds.
Also a foodie's paradise, Cefalù has dozens of superb restaurants and trattorias.

Last but not least, while the Mediterranean Sea stretches out to the north, to the south the hills immediately start stretching up into the magnificent Madonie National Park. If a day at the beach is too sedate for you you'll love the hills, mountains and rolling countryside that's absolutely perfect for walks, hikes and outdoor sports. The less energetic will enjoy a day's driving between the picturesque villages, with a good coffee or a refreshing gelato waiting in each.

In short, this is an unbeatable Sicilian setting in which to study Italian, all year round.

Accreditations

Solemar Academy in Cefalù is accredited by numerous institutions; public and private; domestic and international. German students are able to follow the Bildungsurlaub scheme. Students who need to to certify their Italian level can take the industry-standard CELI exams on site, and for aspiring teachers of Italian the DILS-PG exam is also available.

This school has a growing presence in the Italian language school community and will be recognised from many trade fairs and workshops worldwide. It is a member of some of the top networks of language schools.

In addition to traditional courses, Solemar Academy also offers tailored solutions, including exam preparation courses to fit the needs of your certification. Also on offer are the programmes Club 50+, Club Dolce Vita+ and Club Natura+.
