ASILS National Assembly – Two Inspiring Days of Dialogue and Shared Vision
This year’s ASILS National Assembly, held in Bologna in 2026, was a truly special occasion and a crucial moment of reflection, planning, and shared vision for the future of our sector.
The outstanding level of participation and enthusiasm confirmed once again the strength of our network:
forty ASILS-associated schools travelled from all over Italy to take part in two intense and meaningful days dedicated to dialogue, collaboration, and the continuous development of quality education in Italian language teaching.
The Assembly represented a precious opportunity to meet face to face, exchange experiences, and reflect together on the most important themes concerning the world of Italian language and culture schools for international students. From new educational projects to shared professional challenges, from future perspectives to common goals, the discussions were rich, stimulating, and deeply constructive.
Among the most relevant topics addressed during the Assembly, three key areas emerged as fundamental for the future of our educational sector:
• National Contract: an important discussion focused on the continuous improvement and refinement of the current regulatory framework,
with the objective of ensuring high and constantly updated standards for all associated schools.
• Institutional Value: we highlighted the importance of strengthening the institutional role and credibility of ASILS schools,
reinforcing their impact within the national educational landscape.
• Differentiation Strategies: new strategies were explored to further enhance the distinctive quality of ASILS institutions,
promoting an image of excellence and reliability, also through the introduction of quality certification processes such as the UNI certification.
More than anything, this edition once again confirmed the real strength of ASILS: a network built on shared values, mutual support, and a common mission. It is always inspiring to feel part of a community that goes beyond professional collaboration — a true family of schools united by the same passion for teaching Italian, promoting Italian culture,
and offering international students an authentic and high-quality learning experience.
During the two days, participants had the chance to explore ideas, propose new initiatives, and strengthen connections among schools, with the awareness that working together is essential to face the evolving needs of students and the increasing demands of international education.
Collaboration remains essential for the common good of the Association and for the continuous improvement of all ASILS schools.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the ASILS Board of Directors for their constant commitment, the important work carried out throughout the year, and for the dedication shown in promoting initiatives that support and strengthen our association.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to ALCE Bologna – Study Italian in Italy, the host school of this year’s Assembly, for the warm welcome and the impeccable organization. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and hospitality contributed greatly to the success of the event and created a wonderful environment for exchange and sharing.
A special thank you also goes to all the guests and participants whose valuable contributions enriched the discussion.
It is through dialogue and the sharing of ideas that we can truly build a stronger future for quality education and the teaching of Italian in Italy.
We return from this Assembly with renewed motivation, fresh ideas, and a strong sense of belonging. Once again, ASILS has proven to be an essential point of reference for quality schools, a community capable of looking forward with unity,
enthusiasm, and a shared vision.
