Since 2001 One World has specialised in the teaching of the Italian language in Cagliari, the main city in Sardinia. The serene and friendly atmosphere, characterised by constant attention to students’ demands, offers the opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world. We offer courses which encourage participation and learning with experienced mother tongue teachers qualified to teach Italian as a foreign language, helpful and attentive to students’ needs.
Our school occupies the whole fifth floor of a historic building in the centre of Cagliari, overlooking the port and just a few minutes walk from the bus and train stations.
It has 10 classrooms, a computer room, a break room and a projection room, all equipped with air conditioning and wi-fi.
Our Standard Course is designed for those who want to learn Italian in the morning and discover Cagliari and Sardinia the rest of the time. It is a group course of 20 lessons, during which all language skills are taught and practised.
We offer 6 levels from beginners (A1) to advanced (C2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Books are included in the price of the course.
There is a maximum of 12 students for every class but an average of 6.
The course takes place from Monday to Friday, from 9:15 am to 1:00 pm, with a 25 minute break.
It is the ideal choice for those who want to combine a study and holiday experience.
For anybody who wants to learn as much as possible in a short time, individual lessons are the best option. The teacher will concentrate on the student’s needs and problems and he/she will be able to work on specific arguments. Lessons take place at a time suitable for the students, who can do as many hours as they want.
We offer the following cultural courses:
Italian and literature
Italian and Sardinian Culture.
Both courses combine group study of the language in the morning with individual lessons in the afternoon concentrating on the cultural course chosen.
Preparation courses for CILS exam – as an official CILS exam centre we know exactly what is necessary to pass this exam, more important than ever given that to obtain Italian citizenship a proven B1 level is obligatory.
Senior Course – Courses tailor made for older students who would like to go at their own pace and study with people of similar ages and interests.
Italian and cooking course – Learn Italian in the morning and how to cook delicious Italian food in the afternoon!
One Year with One World – Keep on learning Italian with us even when you are not physically at our school. Make use of our popular online courses “Un anno con Veronica” 365 days a year!
We pay particular attention to our students’ accommodation to make their stay here as comfortable as possible. All of the accommodation options are either within walking distance of the school or a short bus ride away. The accommodation is generally available from the day before the course starts until the day after the course finishes but extra days can be arranged. Our accomodation options include host family stay, mini apartment, private room in an apartment, B&Bs and hotels.
We have a busy activity programme every week. Some of these are free to attend, such as a tour of Cagliari and film showings at the school. Others may run in conjunction with one of our third party providers who organise cultural excursions in Cagliari and south Sardinia. There is something for all budgets and for all interests, from visits to ancient historic sites to trips to some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe!
